LANCASTER AIKIDO CLUB ARE PROUDLY AFFILIATED WITH

​TRADITIONAL AIKIDO EUROPE​

Traditional Aikido Europe is a group of European Aikido dojos with over ​400 active aikido-ka (practitioners) from 16 dojos in 7 countries, sharing in the practice and study of Takemusu (Iwama style) Aikido, in the lineage of Morihiro Saito Sensei (9th dan) and O Sensei, Morihei Ueshiba (the founder of Aikido).
Sensei Lewis Bernaldo de Quiros (7th dan) is the Chairman and Chief Technical Director of the organisation. Sensei de Quiros spent several years studying directly under Saito Sensei in Japan as uchi deshi (live-in student), and preserves Saito Sensei’s legacy by passing on his teachings to the next generation of Aikido students.

BRITISH AIKIDO BOARD​

The British Aikido Board are the UK National Governing body for Aikido, providing support to Aikido associations, clubs, coaches and members across Great Britain.

​All our instructors undertake online training programmes and have passed practical recognised instructor coaching courses to ensure that the highest safety standards are met and adhered to in alignment with the BAB constitution.

HOMBU DOJO, JAPAN

The Hombu Dojo refers to the Aikikai Hombu Dojo, the headquarters of the martial art of Aikido, located in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. It was founded in 1931 as the "Kobukan Dojo" and serves as the central training facility for Aikido worldwide, attracting practitioners from all over the globe.

Although not directly affiliated, we are linked to to the Hombu Dojo through Sensei Lewis Bernaldo de Quiros and our membership with Traditional Aikido Europe.

All our Dan grades (black belt and above) receive their certificate of recognition and confirmation from the Hombu Dojo.
